Making manual changes on the schedule may cause discrepancies between the vehicle and crew schedules. To align the schedules, you can either allow the Optibus platform to modify the schedule automatically or modify it yourself.
The first step is to let the platform know which of these two approaches you've chosen, by setting the vehicle modification mode.
Set vehicle modification mode
1. Open the General settings.
2. Allow, or not, the 'Vehicle modification'
When allowing vehicle modification and performing manual changes in the duties schedule, any duty piece that has been edited will result in the matching vehicle block going automatically to the stack.
Assign vehicles
To reassign the vehicles that have been edited and are in the stack, we have a feature called 'Assign vehicles', which appears only in manual editing mode (in manual editing mode the "Optimize" button turns into "Assign vehicles").
Clicking the 'Assign vehicles' button allows vehicles blocks to be changed according to the duties that were manually modified, in order to prevent changeovers at the vehicles.
However, in case that the "Allow Vehicle modification" option is off, instead of modifying the vehicle blocks according to the changes that were made in the duties schedule - the vehicles blocks remain the same and changeovers are added
Before assigning the vehicles, you can choose to set several options, by clicking the setting button next to the 'Assign vehicles' button.
Regenerating duty IDs
When choosing to use the 'Assign vehicles' button, duties, and vehicle blocks are changing. In case you have preferences regarding the duty IDs, you can choose to regenerate the duty IDs during the 'Assign vehicles' process, in order to keep the IDs according to the preferences that you set.
When choosing this option, you can choose to regenerate the duty IDs for all duties that were modified, only to new duties that were created during the manual editing, only to duties that their IDs don't match the preferences that you have set, or to no or all duties.
Quick vs. full
At the assigning process, you can choose between 2 options:
"Quick" - The system will re-assign only the vehicle blocks that were modified by the changes made at the duties and that are in the stack. Choose this option in case you prefer to have minimal changes in the vehicles over a more optimal vehicle schedule.
"Full" - The system will re-assign all vehicle blocks in order to get the most optimal vehicles schedule that is based on this crew schedule
