Change a service without losing trips

In some cases, you may find that your schedule is using an incorrect service. This can happen if the service settings were incorrect when exported to the TXC file.

We will use an example where we’ve selected and scheduled a service called Mon – Thu (ORG1 WD) when the intended service was simply Mon – Thu.

To correct this issue, follow these steps for each affected route:

  1. Before you begin, make a backup of your existing schedule.

  2. Go to the Route tab and add the regular Mon-Thu service by clicking on it.

3. Go to the Timetable tab and select the newly added Mon-Thu service.

4. Click the Import icon and select Import a different service ID to import the trips from the old Mon-Thu (ORG1-WD) service.

5. Go back to the Route tab and remove the Mon-Thu (ORG1-WD) service from the route by ticking its checkbox.

6. Now sync your schedule with your timeplan. Read this article for information: Sync the schedule with the timeplan.

If both services (the one you removed and the one you added) were in the same service group, the trips on those routes will appear in the stack after syncing the schedule. If the new service is not in the same service group, you’ll need to navigate to the newly added service or group to find all trips in the stack.

To restore the original schedule, perform a projection from the backup copy you made at the beginning of the process.
