This article lists essential troubleshooting cases for relief point and relief timing validation issues.
Relief Points
A relief point is a designated location or stop on a route where a driver can take a break, rest, or be replaced by another driver. Relief points are essential in optimizing vehicle and duty schedules, especially for long-haul or continuous operations, to ensure driver safety, compliance with regulations, and efficient use of resources.
This article provides you with information on troubleshooting relief points and relief timings within Optibus. Prior to reading this guide, you may want to go over the following articles:
Relief point preferences - illegal relief point or Relief point is not part of the required relief points ()
This common error means that one or more relief points used in the assigned duties are invalid. In simpler terms, these relief points are missing from the designated Relief Point preference list.
To better understand and identify the cause of the error, you can click on the duty ID. This will prompt a more detailed description of the error to be displayed.
Once you have identified the relief stop, go to the Relief Point preferences. In this section, add the pinpointed relief stop to the relevant setup.
Relief Timing
Relief timing is a preference that lets you control and establish rules concerning attended and unattended layovers. This allows you to determine whether a layover should be attended or not, as well as when a driver's relief during a layover should take place.
Attendance not compatible with this preference
This validation will trigger when attendance is logged during a duty, despite the relief timing rules allowing unattended reliefs. In other words, it ensures that attendances are not mistakenly recorded during periods when unattended reliefs are allowed.
If you see this error, it suggests that your schedule is not configured to include attendances during reliefs, which contradicts the intended rules. To fix this, you can adjust the Relief timing preferences. Access the preferences and set the appropriate rules that align with your requirements.
Vehicle is unattended
This validation prompt occurs when the schedule should include attendances based on the set relief timings, but they are missing from the schedule.
To address this issue, go to Revise Events > tick Attendance > Modify Schedule.
Important considerations for revising Attendance events
If you attempt to revise attendance after relief cars or public transport (PT) travels have already been scheduled, the system may not assign the attendance to the duty or it may put it in the stack. This is because the presence of relief cars or PT travel can conflict with the updated attendance information, causing the system to skip or reject the assignment. If this happens, please do the following steps;
Temporarily pause the Public Transport travel preference.
Modify the travel and PT preferences to remove the existing travel arrangements.
Revise the attendance to ensure accurate records.
Once attendance is correctly revised, unpause the PT travel preference, and then modify travel arrangements and signing accordingly.
