Too Many Duty Candidates troubleshooting

Updated over a week ago

Common causes for too many duty candidates

1. Relief points - if you're using specific locations for relief, verify "Relief points" preference is defined (i.e. exists and not paused) and defined with the correct stops\places

2. Exclude from optimization - if you have pref groups you would like to exclude from optimization, make sure that they are indeed excluded, a pref group without any limitations can cause many duty candidates in the duty pool. To check, please go to the "Preference groups" and verify the "Exclude from optimization".

3. Relief timing - if the vehicles must be attended when drivers relieve\get relieved, verify "Relief timing" preference is defined (i.e. exists and not paused) and defined correctly

4. Split break definition - If you utilize duties with split breaks, verify "Split break definition" is defined (i.e. exists and not paused) and defined correctly

5. Pref group route group - If you have multiple pref groups and they are limited to specific route groups, verify that there is a route group defined for the pref group and that the route group doesn't contain routes that shouldn't be there. You can find the "Pref group route group" under "Custom duty preference" templates

6. Duty types - duty types are set up incorrectly, a common cause is having a too strict duty types definition that doesn’t allow acceptable duties.
go to preference window, under "Duty types", if you're using pref groups verify you are looking at the duty types instance relevant for the certain pref group, and verify that the duty types start\end time, work\spread time etc. are set up correctly.

E.g. having your Straight AM (or “Early'') duty type allowed to work 8- 8.5 hours because you aim for a certain "paid time" average, duties of 7 hours are also acceptable but are denied as invalid.
