EV preferences - Charging Profiles

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you have electric vehicles in your fleet that you would like to utilize in your schedule, you should set the following preferences:

In this article, you will learn how to configure the Charging Profiles preference.

EV chargers may have different profiles depending on the battery type. With this preference, you can set the charging rates and durations, and limit the percentage the battery can reach while charging.

Note:

  • Before setting the charging profiles, you must set the Batteries preference.

  • This preference can also be made available in the Planning product as a part of the Timetable Optimization (TTO) Suite. The Planning version of the preference looks and works identically, so the instructions in this article still apply there.

Instructions

  1. Open Preferences.

  2. Switch to the All tab underneath the search bar.

  3. In the Electric Vehicles section, click Charging Profiles.

  4. Click Load Template.

  5. Go to the Optibus tab, click on the Charging Profile (max SoC & min charging time) template, and click Apply.

  6. Define the parameters:

    • Profile name - the names defined here (for example: Fast, Slow) will show up as available profiles in the Chargers preference.

    • Battery - the battery supported by this charging profile. The list of available batteries comes from the Batteries preference.

    • Charging rate (kW) - the maximum output rate that the charger can provide. This will be limited by the Max charging rate per state of charge values in the Batteries preference if you set them.

    • Minimum charging time (minutes) - the shortest time that the battery can be charged in this profile. Optional parameter.

    • Maximum state of charge (SoC) (%) - the maximum SoC the battery can reach with this charging profile. Optional parameter.

  7. Once done, click Save & Close or proceed to set up other preferences.
