With the increase in operators incorporating electric vehicles into their fleet, the Optibus platform supports mixed fleet schedules, containing electric and conventional fuel vehicles, as well as fully electric schedules.

When using electric vehicles across the schedule, there are several key elements on the schedule that display electric vehicles differently from the rest of the vehicles.

The vehicles defined as electric vehicles will have charging events against them, indicated by a lightning bolt symbol:

The visual length of the charging event represents how long the vehicle is on charge. Selecting the charging event will show you where it's taking place, how long it lasts, and to what percentage the battery will be charged (Energy).

Using the Vehicle layers option above the Gantt view, State of Charge (SoC) can be viewed against each vehicle and trip it performs.

The highest charge will display green, gradually changing to red as the battery charge goes down.

Each block shows the charge of the battery at the start and the end of the trip.

Preferences under the Electric Vehicles category can control the battery capacity within the vehicles, where they can be charged, and the rate at which they are charged and discharged. You can specify what the Minimum State of Charge (SoC) should be, if there should be a specific End of Day charge (EoD) and also the costs involved in charging the vehicles.

When utilizing electric vehicles, a new KPI will be displayed that shows the CO2 Emissions saved by replacing conventional vehicles with electric vehicles.
