Changeover is an event where one driver gets off the bus and another driver gets on.
There are some definitions you can set for the changeover in the Driver Changeover Vehicle preference. for example: max changeovers in duty, when the changeover could be assigned, etc. This is a templated preference that also known as Join-up or Piece-break.
In this article, you will learn how to specify how many minutes to allow for drivers to get off the vehicle after arrival or on the vehicle before departure.
Go to the preferences menu.
Search for Driver Changeover Vehicle in the search bar.
Click on the button underneath Drivers.
Click on the Load template at the bottom.
Go to the OPTIBUS tab, click on Driver changeover vehicle and press APPLY at the bottom right.
Set the parameters.
The main two things we define in this preference are:
How many changeovers a duty is allowed to have.
What the minimum time for a changeover is.
Max Changeovers: How many changeovers are allowed in one duty.
Changeover Time: The minimum time in minutes between pieces of work. For this example, put 10 in the box.
Penalty: The higher the penalty, the less changeovers.
Only During Split: Whether the changeover can only happen on a split.
Allow Vehicle Type Changeovers: If vehicle type is allowed to change during a changeover.
Note: some preferences have a default number inside the box (The number will be grey). If you don’t put anything inside the box, the system will use the default number. For example, the default max changeovers is 2, if we leave that box blank the system will consider that value to be 2:
7. Press SAVE & CLOSE.
