Relief timing is a duty preference that allows you control and form rules over the attended and unattended layovers. You can decide whether the layover would be attended or not or at what time a relief from one driver to another during a layover would occur.
There are a few options of setting the relief timing for fully attended layovers, partially attended layovers and completely unattended layovers.
To add a new instance of a relief timing, go to preferences and in the search bar search for Relief Timing as shown below:
Once you click on the relief timing preference from the list, you will see the Relief Timing preference screen. Hover over the field and click on New Relief Timing:
The main parameter to set is the relief time. The other fields in the preference such as Stops, Routes, Times Applied, Placement in Route and Preference Groups are filters that allow you to add conditions to your preference. With these filters you can add conditions like a specific stop can be fully attended most of the day but after 7 pm it is not attended, only a certain stop is fully attended while other stops are not, only specific stops for a specific route are fully attended while other stops are not. Note that when you have not set the rules for relief timing then everything is unattended. You explicitly need to define the relief timing in this preference.
In this preference the sequence of relief timing instances sets the priority of application. In the screenshot below, both the Relief Timing instances A and B are set on the same rules except for A set On Arrival and B On Departure. In this scenario, since Relief Timing - A is the first instance, it will get priority and the rule of the first instance will be applied to every layover:
To change the order, hover over an instance and use the arrows to move it up or down until the desired order is set.
