While managing a schedule that involves electric vehicles, it is important to keep an eye on the battery charge of each vehicle throughout the day.

In this article you will learn about the two main tools for that: a layer and a stat.

State of Charge layer

The State of Charge layer displays the battery percentage of each vehicle event on the vehicle schedule.

In order to display the layer, click on the Layers icon and select the State of Charge (SoC) layer.

In addition to the layers panel, you can use the 'E' key to display or hide the layer.

  • The battery charge is displayed as percentage, and also using a green-to-red (100% to 0%) color gradient;

  • If the displayed percentage is over 100% or below 0%, you will see that the trip itself is colored purple. That means that there is an issue in the schedule and it must be modified to accommodate for proper charging;

  • Non-electric vehicles are displayed in grey;

  • Deadheads are opaque, but will also have a gradient if the vehicle is electric

End of Day State of Charge ('EoD SoC') stat

The ‘End of Day State of Charge’ stat shows the battery charge of each electric vehicle at the end of the day.

In order to add it, click Stats and select the EoD SoC stat. Then click Apply. You will see the stat appear as a column in your schedule:
