You can manually edit your schedule. In this article, you will learn how to swap trips.
When you try to move the trip, the drop zones only allow you to drop the trip where there are no existing assignments already. This is where you can utilize the swap functionality of swapping a selected number of trips with a different vehicle.
Swap
Right-click on a selected number of trips, then select Swap from the menu:
Click where you want to swap. This is how it would look like:
In the example above you can see when the trips of route 17 are swapped to the routes of 14, the system automatically generates deadheads to cover the distance from the adjoining routes.
If the swap is not possible, the system will flag an error message that the Trips could not be moved and the reason for it:

Another option is right clicking a trip and clicking Swap from here.
This will take everything from the selected trip all the way to the right and will swap all the trips in that range. An example is presented below:
Right click and Swap from here:
And after choosing the destination you can see that the trip 7-A and all trips following it (7-A and 7) have been swapped with trips 6-A and 2 :
