Move trips

While working on your schedule, you can manually edit it. In this article, you will learn how to move and quickly assign trips.

To enter the manual editing mode in a schedule, click on the pencil icon on the top left menu bar of the schedule:

Once you click on it you enter the stack, which is where you have the unassigned trips (if there are any):

When you click on a trip in a schedule, you will see a tooltip appearing beside the trip. Click on Move, which will enable drop zones to relocate the trip:

You can click on the stack to drop the trip there, which will un-assign the trip. This is shown below:

You can now see that there is one less trip assigned:

During manual editing, when you move a trip in the schedule, the system will anticipate and automatically complete events like sending vehicles to the depot (according to your preferences) to support your actions.

Instead of clicking on the trip and clicking on Move you can double click on the trip to activate moving it and you can double click on the drop zone to drop the trip.

When you want to move a trip, there will be drop zones available on the schedule with recommendations ranging from 1 star to 5 stars (5 stars being the most recommended).

Moreover, red borders indicate the move will violate at least one rule or constraint (e.g. create an overlap between trips), while a blue border means that there are no violations.

By clicking on the recommendation you can also see the estimate of what cost difference the move would have on the schedule, as well as the warning (if there are any):

You can also multi-select a range of trips by clicking on the first trip that you want to select, holding down the Shift key and then clicking on the last item that you want to select. The selected trips can be moved as shown below:

By clicking on a trip and clicking on its vehicle ID you can assign or move the trip to another vehicle as shown below:

Once you have selected the vehicle to assign the trip to click on Assign and the trip will move to the assigned vehicle.
