If a trip has mid-route relief points, you can ungroup it to split it at the relief point.
This allows for the two halves of the trip to be assigned to different duties while manually adjusting or optimizing duties in your schedule. In a sense, this action is the opposite of linking trips.
To ungroup a trip, follow these steps:
Click on the trip in the Gantt view of your duty schedule.
If the trip includes one or more mid-route relief points, you will see an Ungroup button in the bottom-right corner of the popup. Click the button.
You will see the relief point(s) appear between the start and end stops:
Choose the relief point to cut at and click the scissors icon.
The trip is now split in two and can be manually moved to other duties. Duty optimization will also move them around if the algorithm finds it efficient.
Note: You can only move halves of the trip manually in the Crew Schedule tab. This is because both halves will still be performed by the same vehicle, even if they are parts of different duties.
To group the trip back together, make sure both parts are in their original place, and select both parts by holding SHIFT and clicking on them. Then, click Group:
