If you want to keep two or more trips assigned together during optimization, you can link them. The system will keep them together even if there is a better possible solution, and even if the connection goes against your preferences.
To do this, select the trips while holding the SHIFT key, then click Link.
Linked trips are marked with diagonal stripes. When you move them, both of them will move together:
The best practice is optimizing the schedule first, locking exceptions, adding in extra preferences, and optimizing again; working in iterations.
Note: To unlink the trips, simply click on one of them, then select Unlink.
